CommentsTraining logs are the best way to reach a goal, especially when shared with other people. You'll be hearing from me! This site is great. While not a runner, I strive every workout for a personal best, just like you. 
Fitness StatementIn my teens I was a competitive speed skater. In my 50s I did a 26 miler roller blade race--finished first in my age category. Skiing left me with an ACL injury that I finally got fixed in April 2012--so it looks like lots of treadmilling for me, buy I plan on hitting the slopes this year!
My sport of choice has always been weight training. With lots of lunges and squats. Before you boo-hoo, at 58 my ortho docs said I had the knees of a 30 year old, altho one knee was missing an ACL. I'll be using my training log to lose the 25+ pounds I put on when my knee was aching and then healing.

runnerNapa Valley Marathon--a summer-like day. Chris Mocko, a former Stanford runner came in first, many minutes ahead of any competition. He came in at 2:23, last year did 2:20. Was once again a great race and the winner's got their weight in premium Napa wines. Hat's off to promoters Dave Hill and the always friendly presence of Rich Benyo.
