A little rain didn't stop runners from competing in San Jose's 408K's 3rd annual run/walk. 4,577 men and women raced to the finish line being lead by 29 year old  Brett Gotcher of La Selva Beach, CA with a winning time of 23:47 for the over all males. Just behind him was Melinda Dinapoli, 44 of Saratoga, CA, leading the female finishers with a winning time of 31:10, making that an age group win as well. 

A tight finish was had by 2nd and 3rd place male finishers. Jesus Romo, 25, of San Francisco, CA became the second place male finisher with a time of 24:08. Five seconds later, Tom Kloos, 36, also of San Francisco, CA achieved the third male finisher status with a time of 24:13.

The top 3 women all finished with in the 31 minute time frame. Following Melinda Dinapoli was Lisa Renteria, 35, of Los Gatos, CA placing 2nd in the women's division with a finish time of 31:22. Michelle Kern, 49 of Soquel, CA crossed the finish line becoming the third female finisher at 31:49, additionally achieveing 2nd place in her age group.  

Benefiting the Pat Tillman foundation, this race draws a large enthusiastic crowd each year.
