"Enjoyed Father's Day camaraderie at the scenic, hilly Holy City race in the Santa Cruz Mountains...friendly competition at this historic 51st annual event of the West Valley Joggers & Striders Running club. Really enjoyed reeling in 17 year-old Steven Marsinik, whose dad was behind us for the full 9.1 miles...Steven and I had a back-and-forth nip and tug where I would catch him while he was walking the hills, only to have him run ahead of me on the downhill sections...he won the battle on the final two-mile downhill where my shoelace came untied...bummer!!!"
