I ran in his National Runner's Week races in Palo Alto, in the 1980's.

Double Road Race simulation - Bob, thought you'd be interested, that today I actually did a sort of "practice" Double Road Race" run during the Shoreline X-Country race. I didn't do the race, I was there to support Bill Dunn. So I ran for 46 min., on the X-country course, then took a break, socialized with runners, then ran another 23 min on the same X-country course. My break was about 15 min. I felt great for the 2nd part. So without knowing it I realized, "Hey, I just ran a practice "Double Rd. Race", so I was just experimenting with my training for this.
Sounds good...you will be able to handle the Double with no problem...thanks for helping us spread the word...the place to be Sunday morning December 23 is in Plesanton!!! Bob Anderson 10/15/12 3:25 pm

Was that a 5k race on the track? How did you do? When are you going to London? Bob Anderson 7/16/12 8:46 am

5K Race in Pleasanton with Bill, plus warm up and cool down. Won my 10 yr age group division (so did Bill) Ran 23:15, for the race, a 42 second PR for the year. Ran at 80% age-graded. A great improvement considering 9 months ago I was on crutches for 6 weeks from my bicycle accident. Now I'm getting back to my old self again.
Great run JoAnn. 80% is very good. I remember when you terrorized the DSE racing circuit back in the 1980's. Now when you get out of the car at a race your competition will think to themsleves, well there goes first place in that age group. Richard Stiller 6/18/12 8:19 am
Good job JoAnn...anything over 80% is very good!!! Glad to know things are coming together for you...I know you love it so much!!! Bob Anderson 6/18/12 5:45 pm

Another great interval workout 4 x 3/4 miles, ran just as fast as last weeks' breatkthrough workout, even though it was freezing cold and windy. Looking forward to the Marin Memorial race. Bill and I are doing it. See you there Bob and Catherine and Rich.
Going to be a good race...Hans will also be racing...who else?

Easy run. Tired from the long Waddel Creek run Bill and I did on Sunday. That beach run was worth it though. It's SO beautiful there.

Thanks Bob for putting on a fantastic Double RR in Kansas. I recall the first words you said when I came so close to breaking the world record for 60 , you said - "Next time in Pleasanton" Thanks Bob and Bill for helping me set a new goal right away, that I have another chance. I realize the Double RR is all about 2nd chances, eh? Joann Dahlkoetter 11/13/13 6:27 pmIn your case third chances. Richard Stiller 11/14/13 1:21 pm You came close...onwards To Pleasanton Dec 22nd... Thanks Bob, you are always so encouraging. Your Double Rd. Race series has really helped me to get back into great shape after my bike accident and breaking my hip. Now I'm running faster than I have in many years. Thanks for your inspiration, and for masterminding your DRR series - a brilliant idea!! Joann Dahlkoetter 10/14/13 6:51 pm

Thanks Bob Anderson, for putting on a fantastic Double Rd. Race in San Juan Bautista. I came within a few seconds of breaking the 60's world record, and did a personal best DRR by over 1 min. I'm keen to try for the record again, thinking about doing Kansas if possible. Thanks to Bob for giving us this great DRR opportunity. Joann Dahlkoetter 9/30/13 1:25 pmYou ran well JoAnn Saturday.
