Billy Mills congratulates Alan after Oveerland Park win

I was the only racewalker in the Double Road Race in Overland Park and apparently the oldest (78). I managed to beat the 3rd fastest runner in the 70-74 division because I was able to maintain my pace in the 5K, although he was faster in the 10K. Two weeks later, in the 5K and 10K racewalks at the USATF National Masterst Outdoor Championships, I collected two more Golds. The double race format is a great training program.
