6 Person Relay through southern Massachusetts and all the way down Cape Cod. Runners take turns running different legs of varying lengths for ~30 hours. Approximately 1-2 hours into the race euphoria wears off. Run 10 miles. 4-5 hours into the race the van smells like a locker room. Run 7 miles. 10-15 hours into the race all the food is gone. 15.1 hours into the race you start hating your other van mates. Run 10 miles. 20 hours into the race you contemplate slashing the tires on the van while everyone is eating Dinfast (a meal between dinner and breakfast) but don't have enough energy to actually puncture the tires. Go eat Dinfast. Run/crawl 8 miles. 24 hours into the race you decide to burn the van but can't find the gas tank because you are delirious. Run 6 miles. Get in Van only to realize that you are in the wrong van. No one else in the wrong van cares or even notices. Eat their cookies and run 5 miles to your van. Try and burn it again (and again without success). 30 hours finish the race, hug your van mates, drink beers and tell them that this was the greatest race you have ever run. And strangely, you actually mean it.
