A flat, fast Boston qualifier, the Marathon travels through scenic tree-lined historic college neighborhoods, including the celebrated “house in the middle of the road.”, then past Modesto Junior College’s west campus, and into the countryside viewing the beautiful Diablo Mountain Range, passing the San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge.

Notes: I rocked this one! This was a peak performance for me as I PRed, Boston Qualified and won my age group! Started with the 4:25 pacer and stayed with her for 22 miles. My core body temp was rising into the red zone, so I cooled myself with water at each AS...at about mile 22, after pouring water on me and my hankie to tie on my neck, the pacer pulled away from me, and my pace slowed down because of the heat, but I gutted out the last 4 miles alone. Maintained a perfect Chi form throughout the whole marathon, making a few corrections at some points.
