In just its sixth year the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon is already Indiana's largest and fastest marathon. Starting and finishing on the grounds of the Indiana State Capitol, this flat and fast course highlights landmarks and historical neighborhoods throughout Indianapolis. Notes: I am looking forward to running this marathon in my hometown. This will increase my Indiana marathon longevity record to 37+ years, starting with Marathon Marathon 06/05/76 Terre Haute IN 3:02:06 Marathon--First one in my home state. My parents and nephews came out to watch that day. Any challengers to that Hoosier record are welcome to step forward.
