Fitness StatementI'm a 44-year-old mom who runs trail ultras for fun. When not injured, I train by running trails 3-4 times a week, from anywhere from 1 hour to 5 hours. I love nature. I love being outdoors and I love trail running. Running trails makes me feel like a kid again! Pure enjoyment.
Quote“I can't run faster so I run farther.”
Running AchievementsI have run three 50K races and two 50 milers in the past three years. Before that I had never run more than 7.5 miles. My biggest achievement is finishing in last place at Helen Klein 50. I have nicknamed myself La Tortuga--I may be slow but I get 'er done--all while having fun!

AlterG treadmill at Agile for 55 minutes. Very cool machine! Ran mostly at 75-65% of my weight. No calf pain at all. This is great for rehab: you are actually doing what you want to be doing--running!

run Glad to hear it...sounds like you getting on top of the situation...

Body Pump class at the Y. First time going. Great 1-hour class. Combination of weight lifting, lunges, squats, sit ups. This is a great workout during my rehab. Might not be able to walk or lift my arms tomorrow though!

Rancho San Antonio -- five mile walk. Started at upper parking lot and walked past Deer Hollow Farm to pond area and around. Then back. Nursing a calf strain (three weeks into rehab), so no running, but so great to be out at Rancho on a sunny morning with my good friend. Hoping to be running this once again soon. Maybe in a few more weeks??

run I just love running and walking at Rancho...calf issues are not fun...keep us posted!
