|Fitness Statement||I have what my allergist/asthma doctor calls "Sport Induced Asthma." So it's kind of self explanatory. If I become very active (running, jogging, etc) the harder it becomes for me to breathe. If I try to push past it (which I have tried) my lungs close up and I will blackout. It's terrible. I have been trying to work with it since diagnosed at age 13. |
So I do short sessions on the treadmill and elliptical as often as I can. No more than 20 minutes each time. I will walk or go at a slow pace, then ease into a jog, and finally into a run but only for a brief minute, then take back down to a walk.
On top of that I try to do other exercises and I work on strength training with mild weights. I do ab workouts and simple things like lunges and squats.
