Fitness Statement | I am pretty new to running. At this point I am running four days a week. Three days vary between 3 and 5 miles and I am up to 10 miles on the fourth day. I lift weights 2 days a week and bicycle one day. I think at this point I am better shape than I have ever been. I started getting serious about running at the first of February this year. My wife and I are doing this program together, which has made it a lot of fun and we can provide each other support when it gets tough. My wife and I have both taken off about 18 pounds since we started. The first I really ran was about three years ago when I did a couple of adventure races with a team of friends. Before that I had done quiet a bit of road biking and some mountain biking. I enjoy kayaking (no huge water) and skiing in the beautiful Colorado Mountains. Being fit makes everything easier, and improves my quality of life in many ways. I try to get my workouts done in the morning when possible to get a great start to the day and boost my energy. |

Did 2.5 miles today. It started blowing and raining which was kinda nice. Short and sweet. Hope everyone had a wonderful day and a good work out
Went for a two miler today. Going to shoot for four early tomorrow morning. Hope everyone had a great day.
Set out to run 13 miles with the Mrs. She had some knee problems after 8 miles abd we finished walking. It would have been our longest run to date. We will try again soon. Hopefully it will work out better next time. We are pretty new to running and are trying to increase our distance. My wife has had problems with her knees a couple of times when we ran longer distances. If any of you veteran runners have any advice to help prevent the knee pain I would appreciate it. Hope everyone had a good work out today.
Last week was really slow. I am glad that I had to get out and do a little something no matter what. Looking forward to this week going to get after it tomorrow.
