I was the only racewalker in the Double Road Race in Overland Park and apparently the oldest (78). I managed to beat the 3rd fastest runner in the 70-74 division because I was able to maintain my pace in the 5K, although he was faster in the 10K. Two weeks later, in the 5K and 10K racewalks at the USATF National Masterst Outdoor Championships, I collected two more Golds. The double race format is a great training program.

| Fitness Statement | All of the above descriptions are for racewalking, which I have been doing for 28 years without injury. I have earned several Phidippides awards for long-distance racing from the National Masters News although all of the miles were accumulated racewalking. I train or race about 6 days a week. The last two years I entered over 20 races, ranging from 1500 meters to half-marathons. |

| Running Achievements | I have raced in two marathons after age 60 (competitive marathons). I have won Gold Medals in many national competitive racewalks, including USATF, Huntsman Games, Nike World Games and three Golds in 2011 at the World Masters Athletics competition (5K and 10K). I have been president of the Heartland Racewalker club in Overland Park, KS for 18 years and was named the Racewalker of the year in 2011 by the National Masters Racewalking Committee of the USATF. |
